Why do women find it unfair that men are paid more?

Davison, H. Kristl. "The Paradox Of The Contented Female Worker: Why Are Women Satisfied With Lower Pay?." Employee Responsibilities And Rights Journal 26.3 (2014): 195-216. PsycINFO. Web. 2 Mar. 2015.

This article takes the form of a lab report. It is the report of a study that is paradoxical. The study suggests that women are content with making less money than men. The article further studies reasons why women are content. Many of the reasons are implications from studies and surveys. Age, how much women value money, and marital status all are factors as to why women are content with making less money than men. The article reiterates that only individual women are against the fact they make less than men,but many women are content.

This article makes me realize that my question is in fact an assumption. I thought most women would find it unfair that men make more. The source refutes that assumption and I learn that women are content. I wonder if this source is the only source with this information because I find it hard to believe that so many people would be okay with inequality. It is hard to believe that most women aren't upset about this social aspect of life. my larger question asks is it okay that men make more than women but if women are content it makes my argument questioning weak. Is my question only an issue logistically and not an issue socially? Why aren't there more reports of protests for equal pay for women? Could this contentment make my questioning illegitimate? I have to find out how valid this information through other sources and that will guide my questioning.

My research has to find validity in this source. If this is source is valid I have ti further research why women are content and I have to find out whose upset about if anyone. So far I have found out that my question was invalid and women in fact don't find unequal pay unfair. This could change my research in a way that was very unexpected.
